Ringing Phone is the sound generated when an incoming telephone call is received. It is originated form the fact that telephones notified the household of an incoming call by repeatedly striking a bell or bells, producing a ringing sound. Ringing Phone use elecronic sounders to produce other noises. The ringing signal sent to a customer's telephone is around 90 volts. This signal is sent for every ring, and allows phone operators to provide several services with different kinds of rings.

It is simply a specific radio signal on mobile phones, On the European GSM networks, almost all calls provide Caller ID information, so that the receiver knows where the call is coming from. Many phones also allow users to create their own music tones, either with a "melody composer" or a sample/loop arranger. However, other formats, such as MP3 or MIDI are often supported. Before they can be used as a normal ringtone for the phone, Ring tones must be downloaded to the phone. Commercial ringtones take advantage of this functionality, which has led to the success of the mobile music industry.
